The Thoughts of a New Orleans Boot Camp Instuctor!

I always have a difficult time deciding on a topic to write about when I write about fitness. My goal with regards to working as a trainer has always been to help others.

HELP THEM to develop habits that last AND THAT THEY CAN BE ADAPTED TO your INDIVIDUAL LIFESTYLE, but as the saying goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”.

Only the horse can drink for himself. AND EVEN IF YOU AREN’T A HORSE, Only you can develop the habits that are necessary for having the things that you want, fitness or otherwise.

Habits are the CONSISTANT AND repetitive dynamics, OR PROCESSES that we participate in on a daily basis WHICH form the lives that we lead.

Good habits are healthy in the scheme of a complete life and bad habits are bad, Easy TO UNDERSTAND.

So why is it so difficult to develop new and good habits, and easy to slide into bad or debilitating habits?

I wish I had an answer.

Like you, I also have to find it within myself daily to work on eliminating bad habits and adding or maintaining positive habits into my life, even though I’m a professional fitness trainer.

My experience tells me that there never is an answer that is simple, because life isn’t simple. Life is a daily challenge that we are meant to approach with a sense of wonder. It’s a complex thing.

There are many things THAT AFFECT OUR ABILITY to NOT ONLY CREATE GOOD HABITS, BUT TO IMPLEMENT THEM AND ACT ON THEM AS WELL.

Some of these things include but aren’t limited to….

1.    focus

2.    direction

3.    strategy

4.    self confidence

5.    humility

6.    awareness

7.    motivation

8.    identity

9.    Fear

10.  Expectation

11.   Acceptance

These factors to your success are different for all of us because we are all different in many ways.

When you progress through Our New Orleans Boot camp Program, look to find meaning in your workout, and you life by examining how these things manifest in you and where they are leading you.

In upcoming articles, I will further address the process of developing good habits, the above aspects, and I’ll Build upon creating a strategy that will help to lead you to your goals.

Jonathan,
That was great! I know I have many struggles on doing the right thing for myself. I really took in our conversation that we had at the last evaluation and I have been working on the goals that I would like to accomplish in my life. One of the things that Jonas had said rings thru my head about the fact that maybe I am happy the way I am and maybe if I change I would not be as happy. The thing is, is that I am not happy about 90% of the time and I do want to better myself. Anyway bootcamp has done wonders for me and I am so glad that i am apart of it and that I get to take this ride with you as my instructor. You are very motivating. Looking forward to Monday!
